Biografia
I love engaging with materials, and most of the time my work is primarily focused on fiber-based media. Embroidery, in combination with works on paper, has become a special way for me to explore various stories, especially those around womanhood and the experience of navigating a modern world that constantly pushes for productivity and efficiency. My work often reflects on how we nurture our emotions and thoughts, and how the past can shape or interrupt the evolution of who we are becoming.
I create both small and large sculptures and installations. My approach to materials is hands-on and intuitive: I spin, weave, and sew fibers to build surfaces and shapes. At the heart of my practice is the ongoing connection between materials, processes, and ideas.
My journey as an artist is one of constant evolution. I was classically trained at an art academy, learning a wide range of painting techniques, but over time, I felt increasingly drawn to textile-based materials. I try to avoid following conventional practices too closely, instead seeking to carve my own path-free from the confines of popular trends.
