Biografia

Lalunal Studio was founded as a space to reflect the artist’s intellectual, emotional, and personal growth over time. Collage art became her chosen medium—a form of self-expression built from fragments of paper, layered with intention and always accompanied by elemental words. These words act as subtle guides, directing the viewer’s mind toward specific themes and perspectives that the artist wishes to highlight.

Mahsa (LUNA) was born in Tehran, Iran in 1995, the artist’s Persian roots are deeply embedded in many of her works. Her heritage and lived experience as a woman in a patriarchal society strongly shape the emotional core of her art. Through her work, she portrays the impact of cultural norms, personal challenges, and the broader social and political landscape of her country of origin. Current events in Iran often find a voice in her collages.

Her pieces not only reflect her own evolution, but also engage with global and social issues, aiming to raise awareness and express concern. Despite the gravity of these subjects, a thread of hope is consistently woven into her art. This contrast between darkness and light becomes a quiet resistance—an insistence on resilience, beauty, and the possibility of transformation.
