Descrizione: “Nonostante io sappia benissimo che esistono adulti che portano maschere di dolcezza e buonsenso, ma che sotto sotto sono orrendi e spietati, nonostante io sappia bene che basta una ferita perché le maschere cadano, quando succede con tanta violenza sto male”.
Il quadro nasce dalla tragedia che ha colpito e continua a colpire la striscia di Gaza. Assistere indirettamente alla violenza che continuano a subire i palestinesi è un disastro umanitario al quale è difficile restare indifferenti. Soprattutto quando i miei occhi guardano una mamma che abbraccia il suo bimbo, ormai morto, avvolto in un lenzuolo bianco, come se volesse farlo addormentare, e piange in silenzio.
E quindi nonostante sappia che il mondo è brutto, che succedono cose terribili, quando succede io prendo un gessetto e disegno.

“Although I know very well that there are adults who wear masks of sweetness and common sense, but underneath they are horrendous and ruthless, although I know that a wound is enough for the masks to fall, when it happens with so much violence I feel bad”.
The picture arises from the tragedy that has struck and continues to strike the Gaza Strip. Indirectly witnessing the violence that Palestinians continue to suffer is a humanitarian disaster to which it is difficult to remain indifferent. Especially when my eyes look at a mother hugging her dead baby, wrapped in a white sheet, as if she wanted to put him to sleep, and she cries in silence.
And so even though I know the world is ugly, terrible things happen, when they do, I take a chalk and draw.
